Pfaff Creative Sensation Pro: hoop size, file formats and specs
Also written: creative sensation pro, creative sensation™ pro, Sensation Pro
A Pfaff sewing and embroidery combo with a big embroidery field: up to 14.2 × 13.8 in (360 × 350 mm) with the Grand Dream hoop. It has over 690 stitches and more than 360 built-in designs, but it is no longer in Pfaff's current US lineup.
The Pfaff Creative Sensation Pro is a discontinued sewing and embroidery machine with a 14 × 13.8 in (360 × 350 mm) embroidery field. It reads .VP3, .VIP, .HUS, .PCS, .DST, .EXP, .PES, .JEF files and gets designs by USB stick or USB cable to a computer, and has 360 built-in designs.
Creative Sensation Pro hoop size and embroidery area
The Creative Sensation Pro can stitch a design up to 14 × 13.8 in (360 × 350 mm) in one hooping, which is the 9.5 × 14 in size. That is the field limit: a larger hoop from another maker will not let it stitch a bigger area.
In the box: creative 120 square hoop (4.7 × 4.7 in) (4.7 × 4.7 in (120 × 120 mm)), creative Master hoop (9.4 × 5.9 in) (9.5 × 5.9 in (240 × 150 mm)), creative Deluxe hoop (14.2 × 7.9 in) (14 × 8 in (360 × 200 mm)).
Optional from Pfaff: Grand Dream hoop (14.2 × 13.8 in) (14 × 13.8 in (360 × 350 mm)), Metal hoop, 240 × 150 mm (9.4 × 5.9 in) (9.5 × 5.9 in (240 × 150 mm)), Metal hoop, 100 × 100 mm (3.9 × 3.9 in) (4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm)).
Fits in one hooping at typical size: left chest, full front, full back, pocket, sleeve, beanie, towel, baby onesie, baby bib, tote bag, pillow cover, quilt block, patch.

Who the Creative Sensation Pro is for
A fit for sewers who want large-format embroidery and a roomy sewing machine in one body, and who value Pfaff's IDT even-feed system. Skip it if you want a machine Pfaff still sells new, with a published price.
Strengths
- Embroidery field up to 14.2 × 13.8 in (360 × 350 mm), one of the larger single-hooping areas on a home machine
- Three hoops come with it: 120 × 120 mm, 240 × 150 mm and 360 × 200 mm
- Over 690 sewing stitches, including 9 mm decorative stitches and Maxi stitches up to 52 mm wide
- More than 360 built-in embroidery designs, including quilting designs
- Pfaff's IDT even-feed system, 11 presser feet and an electronic knee lift come with it
Limits
- The full 360 × 350 mm area needs the Grand Dream hoop, which is not in the box; the largest included hoop covers 360 × 200 mm
- No longer in Pfaff's current US lineup, and Pfaff later made a creative sensation pro II
- Pfaff's pages for it mention USB cable and USB embroidery stick transfer, not Wi-Fi
- Single needle, so you change the thread by hand for each color, and no cap frame is listed for it
Good to know: Pfaff has taken down the product page for this machine, so these specs come from Pfaff's support page for it, Pfaff's brochure for the creative sensation pro II and a US dealer page. The dealer page lists the 360 × 350 mm area for the original Pro; the Pro II brochure is what names the optional Grand Dream hoop for that size. Hoop sizes are written width × height, as the maker lists them. A 2016 Pfaff update added support for two metal hoops, 240 × 150 mm and 100 × 100 mm. Pfaff's pages do not give the built-in embroidery font count, screen size, stitch speed or weight for this model, so those are left blank. The file format list covers the common ones; check the owner's manual for any others. Pfaff's PC embroidery software and TruEmbroidery for Mac are optional extras.

Frequently asked questions
What is the embroidery size of the Pfaff creative sensation pro?
Up to 360 × 350 mm (about 14.2 × 13.8 in) in one hooping. The optional Grand Dream hoop covers that full area; the largest hoop in the box is 360 × 200 mm (14.2 × 7.9 in).
Which hoops come with the Pfaff creative sensation pro?
Three: the creative 120 square hoop (120 × 120 mm), the creative Master hoop (240 × 150 mm) and the creative Deluxe hoop (360 × 200 mm). A 2016 Pfaff update added support for two metal hoops, 240 × 150 mm and 100 × 100 mm.
What is the difference between the Pfaff creative sensation pro and the pro II?
Both list a 360 × 350 mm field, the same three included hoops and more than 360 built-in designs. Pfaff's Pro II brochure lists over 700 stitches against over 690 for the Pro, and says the new double ribbon stitches are exclusive to the Pro II.
Is the Pfaff creative sensation pro discontinued?
Pfaff's current US machine list no longer includes it, though Pfaff still posts firmware updates and manuals for it. Some dealers may list it, so availability and price vary.
How do I update the Pfaff creative sensation pro?
Pfaff's support page gives two routes: a PC update over a USB cable, or an update written to a USB embroidery stick. On a Mac, you save the update file to a USB drive, plug it in, and hold the Needle Up/Down and Stitch Restart keys while you switch the machine on.
