The Brother Innov-is Quattro 6000D is a discontinued sewing and embroidery machine with a 8 × 12 in (200 × 300 mm) embroidery field. It reads .PES, .PHA, .PHB, .PHC, .DST files and gets designs by USB stick or Memory card, and has 601 built-in designs and 13 lettering fonts.

Quattro 6000D hoop size and embroidery area

The Quattro 6000D can stitch a design up to 8 × 12 in (200 × 300 mm) in one hooping, which is the 8 × 12 in size. That is the field limit: a larger hoop from another maker will not let it stitch a bigger area.

Who the Quattro 6000D is for

Someone shopping the used market who wants one machine that sews and embroiders large designs, including quilt-size layouts. Skip it if you need wifi, a companion app, current support or a cap frame.

Strengths

  • 12 × 8 in (300 × 200 mm) embroidery area, the full-size jumbo hoop is in the box
  • Four hoops included: jumbo, 8 × 8 in quilt, 4 × 4 in and a small 1 × 2.5 in frame
  • Combo machine with 638 built-in stitches and 601 built-in embroidery designs
  • 8.5 in color touchscreen and a built-in camera for placing designs and edge sewing
  • Reads five file types: PES, PHA, PHB, PHC and DST

Limits

  • Discontinued, so it is only found used or as old stock
  • No wifi or companion app; designs come in by USB or an optional card reader
  • Single needle, so you change thread color by hand
  • Brother lists no cap frame for it

Good to know: Brother US lists the full embroidery area as 12 × 8 in and Brother Canada as 300 × 200 mm; the manual calls the jumbo frame area 30 × 20 cm. The manual's accessory table writes the jumbo frame as H 30 × W 20 cm, so this file stores it as 200 wide by 300 high, the same way other Brother large hoops are stored. Brother's own wording is not fully consistent on which side is horizontal, so check the orientation when you hoop. The 7 × 5 in and 7 × 4 in hoops are listed in the manual as optional accessories. Brother Canada lists 601 built-in designs (the US brochure says more than 600, including 160 Disney designs) and 13 embroidery fonts. The manual gives a sewing speed of 70 to 1,000 spm; the 1,000 spm embroidery speed comes from Brother Canada's page, and the manual says the maximum embroidery speed has 3 settings. The manual weights are about 33 lb (15 kg) for the machine and 9 lb (4 kg) for the embroidery unit, so 42 lb is the total with both. US release year is not stated on the Brother pages we used. A used unit was listed at a dealer; we found no new stock, so no price range is given.
