Poolin EOC05: hoop size, file formats and specs
Also written: EOC-05, EOC 05
Embroidery-only machine from Poolin with a long, narrow 4 × 9.2 in (100 × 235 mm) field, 96 built-in designs and a 7-inch touchscreen. It loads DST and DSB files by USB. The field suits borders and long designs, but it is only 4 in wide and has no cap frame.
The Poolin EOC05 is a embroidery-only machine with a 4 × 9.3 in (100 × 235 mm) embroidery field. It reads .DST, .DSB files and gets designs by USB stick, and has 96 built-in designs and 9 lettering fonts.
EOC05 hoop size and embroidery area
The EOC05 can stitch a design up to 4 × 9.3 in (100 × 235 mm) in one hooping, which is the 4 × 7 in size. That is the field limit: a larger hoop from another maker will not let it stitch a bigger area.
In the box: 4" × 4" hoop (4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm)), 4" × 9.2" hoop (4 × 9.3 in (100 × 235 mm)).
Fits in one hooping at typical size: left chest, pocket, sleeve, beanie, towel, baby onesie, baby bib, patch.

What file format does the EOC05 use?
The EOC05 reads .DST and .DSB files. You load designs by USB stick. Designs in other formats (for example .JEF or .EXP) need converting first with embroidery software.

Who the EOC05 is for
A home embroiderer who wants a long, narrow field for borders, banners and sleeve-length designs at a modest price. Skip it if you need a field wider than 4 in, finished hats, or PES files without converting them first.
Strengths
- 4 × 9.2 in (100 × 235 mm) field, longer than a 5 × 7 in (130 × 180 mm) field
- Two hoops in the bundle: 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm) and 4 × 9.2 in (100 × 235 mm)
- Listed top speed of 700 stitches per minute
- 96 built-in designs and 9 lettering fonts, with a 7-inch touchscreen
- Automatic needle threading, bobbin winding and thread trimming after each color
Limits
- Only 4 in (100 mm) wide, so a 5 × 7 in design does not fit
- Dealer pages list only DST and DSB files, so PES, JEF and similar files need converting first
- No cap frame is listed and both hoops are flat, so it is not set up for finished hats
- Embroidery only, with no sewing functions
Good to know: Poolin's own website could not be opened (it blocked access), so these specs come from US dealer product pages (Swing Design) that carry Poolin's spec text. No manufacturer page or manual was confirmed, so check the specs against the Poolin manual before relying on them. The dealer lists the maximum area as 4 × 9.25 in and in titles as 4 × 9.2 in; the hoop labels show 100 × 100 and 100 × 235, which this file reads as millimetres. The pages give no needle count, so one needle is assumed for this home-class embroidery-only machine. Dealer pages mention Wi-Fi, but give no detail on what it does and name no app, so only USB is listed as a transfer method. The pages show no weight and no release year. Swing Design lists the EOC05 and EOC06 together and calls the EOC06 an upgraded version; that is dealer wording, not a maker statement that the EOC06 replaces the EOC05, so no replacement link is set. Some bundles show as sold out while others can be added to cart, so status is an estimate. The price range covers the two new bundles seen.

Frequently asked questions
What hoop size does the Poolin EOC05 embroidery machine have?
Two hoops come in the bundle: 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm) and 4 × 9.2 in (100 × 235 mm). The larger hoop matches the full 4 × 9.2 in embroidery field.
Is there a magnetic hoop for the Poolin EOC05?
The pages we checked list only two flat hoops and no magnetic hoop. We could not confirm which magnetic hoops fit the EOC05, so check the seller's compatibility note and the 4 × 9.2 in (100 × 235 mm) size before you buy.
What file format does the Poolin embroidery machine use?
The dealer pages say to convert custom designs to DST or DSB and load them from a USB drive. Designs in other formats, such as PES or JEF, need converting first.
Poolin EOC05 vs Brother PE800: which has the bigger field?
The EOC05 is longer, 4 × 9.2 in (100 × 235 mm) against 5 × 7 in (130 × 180 mm), but narrower, and its listed top speed is higher, 700 against 650 stitches per minute. The PE800 has more built-in designs (138 against 96), reads PES files, and is listed by Brother as discontinued.
Can the Poolin EOC05 embroider hats?
No cap frame is listed for it, and both hoops are flat. Without a cap frame the machine is not set up for finished caps.
