Pfaff creative 1.5: hoop size, file formats and specs
Also written: creative 1.5, creative™ 1.5, Pfaff Creative 1.5
An entry Pfaff sewing and embroidery combo with a 9.4 × 5.9 in (240 × 150 mm) embroidery field, 101 built-in designs and 150 stitches. It reads only .vp3 files from a USB stick, and Pfaff lists no cap frame for it.
The Pfaff creative 1.5 is a discontinued sewing and embroidery machine with a 9.5 × 5.9 in (240 × 150 mm) embroidery field. It reads .VP3 files and gets designs by USB stick, and has 101 built-in designs and 2 lettering fonts.
creative 1.5 hoop size and embroidery area
The creative 1.5 can stitch a design up to 9.5 × 5.9 in (240 × 150 mm) in one hooping, which is the 5.5 × 8 in size. That is the field limit: a larger hoop from another maker will not let it stitch a bigger area.
In the box: creative Master hoop (9.4 × 5.9 in) (9.5 × 5.9 in (240 × 150 mm)).
Optional from Pfaff: creative Endless hoop II (7.1 × 3.9 in) (7 × 4 in (180 × 100 mm)), creative All Fabric hoop II (5.9 × 5.9 in) (5.9 × 5.9 in (150 × 150 mm)), creative Texture hoop (5.9 × 5.9 in) (5.9 × 5.9 in (150 × 150 mm)), creative 120 Square hoop (4.7 × 4.7 in) (4.7 × 4.7 in (120 × 120 mm)), creative Petite Square hoop (3.1 × 3.1 in) (3.1 × 3.1 in (80 × 80 mm)).
Fits in one hooping at typical size: left chest, pocket, sleeve, beanie, towel, baby onesie, baby bib, quilt block, patch.

What file format does the creative 1.5 use?
The creative 1.5 reads .VP3 files. You load designs by USB stick. Designs in other formats (for example .JEF or .EXP) need converting first with embroidery software.

Who the creative 1.5 is for
A fit for sewers who want a roomy embroidery field and Pfaff's IDT even-feed system on a simple machine, and who can buy .vp3 designs or convert others. Skip it if you want to open PES or DST files directly, send designs by Wi-Fi, or stitch finished hats.
Strengths
- Embroidery field of 9.4 × 5.9 in (240 × 150 mm), bigger than the 5 × 7 in field common on home combos
- The 240 × 150 mm Master hoop comes in the box, so the full field is usable from day one
- 101 built-in embroidery designs, 2 embroidery fonts and 150 sewing stitches
- Pfaff's IDT even-feed system and 7.9 in (200 mm) of sewing space to the right of the needle
- A USB embroidery stick and free Embroidery Intro PC software for editing and combining designs are included
Limits
- The manual says it loads .vp3 files only; PES, DST and other formats need converting first
- USB stick transfer only; Pfaff lists no Wi-Fi or companion app for it
- Only five optional hoops are listed, the largest being the 7.1 × 3.9 in Endless hoop II, and none is a cap frame
- Single needle, so you change the thread by hand for every color change
Good to know: Pfaff's brochure and owner's manual give the 240 × 150 mm Master hoop as the included hoop and the largest embroidery area. The manual says the machine loads .vp3 files, and no other embroidery file type is named in it, so only .vp3 is listed here. The five optional hoops come from the brochure's optional hoops line; the manual says the hoop menu also lists hoops sold by dealers. Both Pfaff documents were read from copies hosted on a US dealer's site. The manual gives a net weight of 13 kg (28.7 lb) and a sewing speed of 800 (rpm); it does not give an embroidery speed, so that is blank. The manual describes a graphic display with buttons and a wheel, and does not give its size or say whether it is color, so those are left blank and it is marked as not touch. Release year is not stated. Status: the creative 1.5 does not appear on the Pfaff pages of Pfaff's US store (singer.com) when checked, and the dealer page shows no online price and says to call or visit a store, so it is marked discontinued with no price range; Pfaff itself has not published an end-of-sale notice that we found.

Pfaff's brochure lists the Master hoop (240 × 150 mm, included), Endless hoop II (180 × 100 mm), All Fabric hoop II (150 × 150 mm), Texture hoop (150 × 150 mm), 120 Square hoop (120 × 120 mm) and Petite Square hoop (80 × 80 mm). Other creative-series hoops are not listed for this model.
What embroidery file format does the Pfaff creative 1.5 read?
