Brother PE570: hoop size, file formats and specs

Also written: PE-570, PE 570

Embroidery-only machine, sold as a Walmart exclusive, with a 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm) field, 135 built-in designs, a 3.7 in color touch screen, wireless transfer and the Artspira app. Top speed is 400 stitches per minute. Designs bigger than 4 × 4 in will not fit.

The Brother PE570 is a embroidery-only machine with a 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm) embroidery field. It reads .PES, .PHC, .DST, .PEN files and gets designs by USB stick or Wi-Fi, and has 135 built-in designs and 10 lettering fonts.

PE570 hoop size and embroidery area

The PE570 can stitch a design up to 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm) in one hooping, which is the 4 × 4 in size. That is the field limit: a larger hoop from another maker will not let it stitch a bigger area.

In the box: 4" × 4" hoop (medium) (4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm)).

Optional from Brother: Small frame (about 1" × 2.5") (2.4 × 0.8 in (60 × 20 mm)).

Fits in one hooping at typical size: left chest, pocket, sleeve, beanie, baby onesie, baby bib, patch.

What file format does the PE570 use?

The PE570 reads .PES, .PHC, .DST and .PEN files. You load designs by USB stick or Wi-Fi, and the Artspira app works with it. Designs in other formats (for example .JEF or .EXP) need converting first with embroidery software.

Who the PE570 is for

A beginner who wants small designs such as monograms, patches and kids' clothes, with wireless transfer. Skip it if you want to sew too, stitch hats, or embroider designs bigger than 4 × 4 in.

Strengths

  • Wireless LAN and the Artspira app: send designs from a PC or mobile device with no USB stick
  • 135 built-in designs and 10 lettering fonts on a 3.7 in color touch screen
  • Reads .pes, .phc, .dst and .pen files
  • 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm) hoop in the box, plus an automatic thread cutter
  • Weighs about 14 lb (6.4 kg)

Limits

  • The field is only 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm), and Brother lists no larger hoop for it
  • Top speed is 400 stitches per minute, against 650 on the PE800 and PE900
  • Brother lists no cap frame for it, so it is not set up for finished hats
  • Embroidery only: it has no sewing stitches

Good to know: Brother lists the PE570 as a Walmart-exclusive model. Its support page links the same operation manual as the PE545 (product code 888-P30), and that manual's regulatory page names only the PE545, so the file formats, speed, field, weight and small-frame details here come from that shared manual plus Brother's PE570 product page. Brother's PE570 page lists no file formats and no optional hoops, and it gives the weight without a unit (14.07; the manual says about 6.4 kg or 14 lb). Its "work area" of 6.4 × 4.0 in is the machine's carriage travel, not the stitch field. The manual lists a small frame as sold separately, but Brother's accessory catalog page did not list the PE570, so check the frame fits before buying. Brother's US page showed no discontinued notice and a Walmart listing was selling it, so status is set to current; confirm before relying on it. Brother does not publish a launch date for the PE570 (its manuals are dated 2022, the US accessory notice 2023), so the release year is left blank. The manual says Wi-Fi works on 2.4 GHz networks only.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Brother PE570 hoop size and embroidery area?

The embroidery area is 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm), and the 4 × 4 in hoop comes in the box. Brother's manual also lists a small hoop (about 1 × 2.5 in) as sold separately, and it lists no larger hoop, so bigger designs will not fit.

Brother PE570 or PE545: what is the difference?

Brother lists the same specs for both: a 4 × 4 in field, 135 built-in designs, 10 fonts, 400 stitches per minute, a 3.7 in touch screen, wireless transfer and the Artspira app, and they share one operation manual. The PE570 is the Walmart-exclusive version, and in our price checks it has sold for a little less than the PE545.

Brother PE570 or SE700: which should I pick?

Both have a 4 × 4 in (100 × 100 mm) field, 135 built-in designs and 10 fonts. The SE700 is a sewing and embroidery combo with 103 sewing stitches, while the PE570 only embroiders, so pick the SE700 if you also want to sew.

Brother PE570 or SE725: which should I pick?

The SE725 is the Walmart-exclusive sewing and embroidery combo, and it matches the PE570 on field (4 × 4 in), designs (135), fonts (10) and speed (400 stitches per minute). It adds 103 sewing stitches, and the PE570 is usually the cheaper of the two, so pick the PE570 only if you will not sew on it.

How do I use the Brother PE570?

Fit a 75/11 embroidery needle, attach the embroidery unit, set up the bobbin and upper thread, then hoop the fabric with stabilizer in the 4 × 4 in frame and clip the frame on. Next pick a design on the touch screen, check its position, and press Start/Stop. Brother's operation manual, Quick Reference Guide and instruction videos (linked in the manual) cover each step.
